FAQ
Do you pose us?
My goal is to use you guys as inspiration while creating a space that feels safe to be your truest and most authentic selves. I will guide you in the right direction, meaning prompt you to do something and capture the emotion from that moment. Rather than posing you, I will do so in a way that feels natural to you. The best images are always the ones where you are fully in the moment and not just cheesing for the camera.
Do you require a retainer?
Yes! I will collect a retainer upon booking your session and they are nonrefundable. Without the retainer, I do not guarantee your session on my books as it will still be available to other clients.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellation will result in the forfeiture of your retainer, unless the session is rescheduled at least three weeks in advance.
How long will it take to receive my images?
I always deliver my galleries on a first come first serve basis. Meaning, it depends on how busy I am at the time. However, 2-3 weeks is the most it should take for regular sessions. Weddings will take longer.
Do we receive every image?
I do not deliver every image owing to the fact that I will take way more than necessary. However, I promise to deliver images from all the small and most important moments of your day.
What should we wear?
I ALWAYS ask that you wear neutral or muted colors, with a variation of textures.Color theory is a huge part of what I do and making sure your outfits don't clash with the landscape is important. That being said, I am always more than happy to send over some inspiration or even send over some outfits that I think will photograph nicely!
What if there is bad weather?
I typically like to embrace the weather. Cloudy with a little wind or rain adds another element to the images and really helps tell a beautiful and unique story. However, if its pouring, lightning, hailing, etc. we will reschedule with no extra fee to you!
Do you travel?
Of course! I love a little road-trip to a beautiful destination. If you need help figuring out a desirable location, I am more than happy to suggest some to you. Travel fees are added depending on how far out we're talking, but to me - the further the better ;)
How will I receive my images?
All of your images will be delivered through an online gallery. You are able to download them directly from there. They are all high resolution jpgs to guarantee the best quality. However, some packages will also come with a USB drive.
How does payment work?
For weddings a non- refundable retainer of $500 is due at the time of booking. Payment plans are accepted. Just discuss with me at the time of booking! I also ask the balance is paid at very latest two weeks prior to your wedding.
Are you LGBTQ+ friendly?
Absolutely! All are welcomed and loved here.
Do you send out RAW images?
No, I do not. There is so much that goes into my editing process but I will always include images from each moment of the day (big and small). If you feel as if I missed something, don't hesitate to reach out!
Can you help us with planning?
Absolutely! I have knowledge of all things weddings and vendors and would love to be as much part of the planning process as you will allow. I have a personal list of preferred vendors who I have worked with in the past from hair/makeup to videographers! Feel free to ask me all the questions!
Will you photoshop us / change how we look?
I do not use photoshop to alter the way you or your day looked. I may photoshop out some trash or leaves from the ground but never what you look like. I am a photojournalist and like to capture the day for what it is and who you are which is always most beautiful to me!
What is your approach to shooting weddings?
I'm more of a documentary-styled photographer rather than a posing one. I am all about capturing the day as it comes but will also jump in and get those must have portraits. Candids are a total vibe though!
How do we book you?
If you feel that I am the right fit for your day, head over to my contact page and we will go from there! Once the retainer is paid, you are officially booked and I will then send over some questionnaires to get the ball rolling!
What advice do you have for couples getting married?
1. I would definitely say planning your day around an activity or place that is meaningful to the both of you. This allows for the photos to feel more organic. I want to capture you being 'you'.
2.Another thing would be to really prioritize the most important photos for you. You don't have to get every 'traditional' photo that everyone else has. This allows way more time to get the images you care about. For example, if getting ready photos aren't important to you, I can spend my time capturing moments elsewhere that you do prioritize.
3. Consider the lighting when deciding what time you will have your ceremony.
4. When in doubt, keep it simple. Simple backdrops and scenery, simple outfits, will always allow you to be the main subject. We want the story to be about you, not the outfit you have on.
